Accommodation and meals throughout the entire duration of the summer school will be covered for accepted students. Participants are responsible for their own travel-related expenses.


Bad Kösen

Bad Kösen is a small town located in the state of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. It is known for its beautiful scenery, historic landmarks, and thermal baths. It has a rich history and culture. The town has several historic landmarks, including the Castle Saaleck, which dates to the 11th century.

Venue

Konrad-Martin-Haus is a beautiful and historic building situated in a picturesque area of Bad Kösen. The venue offers a variety of amenities, including a ping-pong table and a beautiful garden. In the common case, two students will share a double room with a private bathroom. In preparation for the summer school, you will be asked about roommate preferences.

Meals

All meals are covered for accepted participants. Dietary restrictions or food preferences will be accommodated if possible. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or have any allergies, please let us know in the application form. During lecture days, there will be breaks that offer opportunities to socialize with other participants while enjoying a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.


Transport

Travel-related costs have to be covered by the participants (about 20€ from Jena by train). Our journey will begin in Jena by taking a train to Bad Kösen for approximately 30 minutes, followed by a 20-minute walk from Bad Kösen’s train station. Please keep in mind the walking time when preparing for the summer school. We will meet in front of the Mensa Ernst-Abbe-Platz in Jena on August 31.
